The Kumana National Park is 18149 hectares and is in the southeast of Sri Lanka. It is a noted ecotourism destination and a bird sanctuary of great variety. There are about 20 shallow lagoons and lakes which have created a safe haven for bird life to roam in abundance. The wetland zones are surrounded by the dry zone tropical thorn forest. Moreover, Kumana Villu is among the park’s most important features.
